AGC | EHS&S Specialist (Belletech), Bellefontaine, OH

Belletech, located in Bellefontaine, OH is seeking a qualified Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability Specialist.  In this role, you will plan, implement, and coordinate plant Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability programs/activities to meet established corporate objectives. Monitor and manage EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations while supporting sustainability programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability programs for the facility.
  • Manage the existing ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and lead the implementation of ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System.
  • Ensure all EHS&S reporting, regulatory and AGC, requirements are completed on time, including the management of the IMDS portal.
  • Develop, coordinate, and perform EHS&S training as needed for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Manage and maintain EHS&S documentation to include chemical management.
  • Perform internal assessments for EHS&S programs and create corrective actions to address issues identified.
  • Lead or perform EHS&S regulatory and compliance inspections and audits, both internal and external.
  • Become and maintain Lead Auditor certified for both ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Provide EHS&S support in the design and installation of new or modified equipment.
  • Assist in investigations of workplace incidents, developing PDCA’s and completing root cause analyses to determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Lead facilities safety committee team and meetings.
  • Assist management and employees with EHS&S concerns.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of each department

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health or relevant area of study, or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years professional experience in Environmental Health and Safety in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program requirements regarding EPA, OSHA, NIOSH, DOT, etc.
  • Leadership experience in managing mixed team(s) of hourly and professional employees
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize problem solving and corrective action tools such as Six Sigma, KT, 5-Why, etc.
  • Proficient computer skills including use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, federal, and state EHS regulations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effective presentation and persuasion skills
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Based Safety programs
