Summary of Position:

AGC Automotive located in Bellefontaine, OH is seeking qualified Maintenance Staff  to work 2nd  and 3rd shifts within our General Maintenance Department. In this role the candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter requiring minimal supervision.  This position will require safety consciousness, a desire to work as part of a team and good work habits.  Effective oral and written communication skills are required.  These are hourly positions with a wage rate up to $36.50 per hour (based on experience and competency) plus a $1.00 shift premium. 

This position includes but not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Work directly in resolving repeatable/serious failures, develop and implement improvement ideas for both mechanical and electrical needs using AGC Problem Solving tools when requested.
  • Assist in the planning, modification, and preparation of Equipment Reliability activities including electrical and mechanical activities.
  • Provide documented training materials to other maintenance associates as needed.
  • Be available for call-in emergency repairs.  This position will require some call-in activity.  You should be available for call-in at any time of the day or night.
  • Organize and direct the activities of others.  The person in this position will be expected to have the leadership skills necessary to perform as a temporary team leader as required.
  • Hours of work may vary.  This promotion may result in staff being assigned to any shift.  Some projects may require staff to be temporarily assigned to any shift.  This position requires the staff to respond to a call to report to work at any time.
  • Isolate and repair electrical/mechanical equipment failures, particularly on CNC, robotics and process equipment.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Two-to-Four-year Technical Degree preferred  
  • Three to Five years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Consistent outstanding performance level in safety, work ethic, and professionalism
  • Attention to detail, with demonstrated ability in problem-solving
  • Mechanical and Electrical aptitude
  • Programmable Logic Control (PLC) knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of building automation controls & programming
  • Desire to work as part of a team and have good work habits
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, hand-held power tools, and precision measurement tools
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, perform repetitive arm movements, lift up to 50 lbs., stand on concrete for extended periods of time, work mandatory overtime, and withstand temperatures of up to 100+ degrees
