AGC Automotive Americas (AGCAA) is a leading supplier of automotive glazing for the OEM and aftermarket industries and is part of the AGC Group, the largest global glass supplier employing more than 50,000 worldwide in approximately 30 countries.

We are currently seeking a full-time Accountant to report to the Accounting Manager in the centralized General Accounting department.  The purpose of the role is to ensure the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of the general ledger and financial reporting systems by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions for appointed AANA locations. 

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger
  • Ensure that all deadlines are met in accordance with the closing dates set by management
  • Prepare and record month-end accruals and closing journal entries
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting
  • Prepare and analyze assigned balance sheet reconciliations timely
  • Report discrepancies to management and make recommendations for resolving variances
  • Assist with preparation of supporting documentation for audits and interact with internal and external auditors as needed
  • Assist Accounting Manager with the completion of the annual tax packages
  • Participate in JSOX process level self-assessments for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Mapics vendor/customer maintenance
  • Perform analysis for management during forecasting and budgeting process
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Work closely with and support other members of accounting, management, and additional corporate departments
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and special projects
  • Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedures
  • Document procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Scan and index journal entries

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in Accounting, is preferred
  • 2-4 years general accounting experience, manufacturing accounting experience preferred
  • Solid Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and Word skills
  • Strong skills with ERP systems or other financial reporting tools (AS400, XA and COGNOS, preferred)
  • Experience with internal controls and documentation is a plus
