Summary of Position:

Ensuring a safe work environment by identifying hazards, developing safety procedures, conducting training, and investigating incidents.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Safety and Health programs for the facility.
  • Support and maintain activities for the implementation of ISO 45001 Safety Management System.
  • Ensure all Safety and Health reports for AANA CEHS are completed on time.
  • Develop, coordinate, and perform Safety and Health training as needed for employees, contractors and visitors.
  • Manage and maintain Safety and Health documentation.
  • Perform internal assessments for Safety and Health programs and create corrective actions to address issues identified.
  • Lead or perform Safety inspections and audits, both internal and external.
  • Become and maintain, at a minimum, Internal Auditor certification for ISO 45001.
  • Provide Safety and Health support in the design and installation of new or modified equipment.
  • Assist in investigations of safety and health incidents, reporting in required programs, develop PDCAs and completing root cause analyses to determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Lead facilities Safety Committee and meetings.
  • Lead/Assist with Safety Walks, track items identified and assist with corrective actions.
  • Assist management and employees with Safety and Health concerns.
  • Actively participate in AGC Safety and Health improvement initiatives
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of both facilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, Safety Engineer, or relevant area of study.
  • 3 to 5 years professional experience in health and safety manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program requirements regarding OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI standards.
  • Experience in managing and working with a mixed team of hourly and salaried employees.
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize problem solving tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and Causation Mapping, etc.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills including use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state safety and health regulations including OSHA, ANSI, & NFPA standards.
  • First Aid/First Responder background. (Preferred)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective presentation and training skills.
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Based Safety programs and applications.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 40 lbs. on a periodic basis.
  • You must be able to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, climb stairs, reach with arms and hands.
  • Must be able to work in heat and noise while on their feet for up to 8 hours (maximum of 12 hours).
  • Available to work on all shifts and weekends as required and on call for emergency concerns.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to halt or suspend operations based upon safety or quality concerns.
