AGC | Tier II Quality Engineer (Corporate) , Elizabethtown, KY
AGC Automotive Americas (AANA) is a leading supplier of automotive glazing for the OEM and aftermarket industries and is part of the AGC Group, the largest global glass supplier employing more than 50,000 worldwide in approximately 30 countries.
Responsible for operating production lines in such a manner as to ensure safety of self and others as well as quality of product produced.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will develop, maintain and support supplier quality assurance efforts to ensure that products and services meet supplier specifications.
Location of Position: Kentucky (Remote) – Princeton/Georgetown/Elizabethtown
Travel : Up to 50% within Indiana/Kentucky region
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Problem Solving
- Take the lead in technical root cause investigations, resolving supplier performance issues to ensure our products meet the highest standards.
- Dive deep into APQP/PPAP documentation (like DFMEA/PFMEA, Control Plans, and Work Instructions), making critical adjustments to guarantee process integrity.
Supplier Partnership & Communication
- Build and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with our Tier 2 suppliers, creating a win-win environment for long-term success.
- Act as the central point of communication, ensuring a seamless and effective flow of information between suppliers and our AGC sites.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Manage and track key supplier metrics using a performance scorecard, driving continuous improvement and compliance with AGC’s rigorous requirements
- Champion Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives with our suppliers, uncovering innovative solutions that give AGC a competitive edge in the market.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- 4-year technical degree in Engineering(technical) discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in supplier quality management or related fields.
- Experience in automotive or supplier environment preferred
- Demonstrated experience with automotive quality systems, including IATF 16949 and ISO standards.
- Proficiency in applying APQP, PPAP, and other core quality tools (FMEA, SPC, MSA).
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, with experience in root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with suppliers, customers, and internal teams at all levels of management.
- Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter, demonstrating strong organizational and decision-making skills aligned with strategic objectives.
