AGC | Tempering Team Leader, Bellefontaine, OH

AGC Glass Company North America, located in Bellefontaine, Ohio, fabricates high-quality automotive safety glass for automobile manufacturers located in the United States and abroad. We are searching for individuals who want to join our fast-paced, high-tech, team environment.

The Tempering Team Leader works with production associates and production coordinator to maintain daily production in accordance with SOPs to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide line leadership and direction to production associates while assisting the coordinator
  • Provide training and assistance to production associates to maintain optimum quality and uptime
  • Support continuous improvement by leading KTA teams which will benefit associate development
  • Perform minor maintenance of equipment to meet quality and uptime objectives.
  • Work together with production staff to perform minor maintenance on equipment and line improvements.
  • Conduct required quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet quality requirements
  • Provide input and support execution of process improvements
  • Ensure all inventory transactions are completed correctly and on time
  • Provide backup as needed to fill vacancies within department
  • Leads environmental and safety practices and improvements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Complete all required line documentation throughout the shift
  • Lead by example
  • Other duties or projects as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Good training and communication skills
  • Able to perform minor maintenance to equipment
  • Able to handle and manipulate small parts
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Required to work 8 – 12-hour schedule, including weekends and some holidays
  • Must be reliable in attendance
  • Must be able to read and understand written instructions/spec sheet

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger or feel objects, reach with arms and hands
  • Must be able to lift and move 10 – 35 pounds on a repetitive basis
  • Must be able to use close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus ability for examining product
  • Must be able to work in heat and noise
  • Must have good eye-hand coordination
  • Must be able to work on feet for an 8 – 12-hour workday on any shift

The candidates will also be flexible to work any hours and/or shifts with minimal notice. The candidates must have good mechanical aptitude and have good troubleshooting abilities.  They must understand quality and production standards and must be able and willing to train associates effectively and communicate effectively with all levels of production.  These positions will require overtime for line operation, communication meetings and training.  A working communication line (example: telephone) is required.  The candidates must be motivated with the desire to help improve AGC Glass Company North America and will be required to enter any new programs developed for team leader advancement.
