Summary of Position:
As a Senior Cost/FP&A Analyst in our North America regional headquarters, you will be the financial cornerstone for new automotive program launches. You will architect, maintain, and continuously optimize the complex financial models that empower our Sales and New Model Launch Teams to deliver competitive and profitable customer quotations. This critical role involves preparing robust business cases and investment analyses to assess the profitability of new products, ensuring our strategic initiatives are built on a solid financial foundation and drive maximum cash flow for the company.
Location: Hybrid, 4 days in office, Farmington Hills, MI.
Travel: ~10%/minimal (trips to regional plants)
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and calculate total manufacturing costs to establish product costing for new automotive glass designs, including windshields, backlights, sidelights, and sunroofs. This encompasses all material, labor, plant overhead, and production-related capital expenses.
- Collaborate with design and process engineering teams to analyze complex technical drawings, define manufacturing workflows, and establish detailed cost estimates for all required components and production activities on new and existing assets.
- Engineer, maintain, and continuously optimize sophisticated cost-estimating models that empower the Sales Team to deliver competitive customer quotations and maximize company profitability and cash flow.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, technical development, purchasing, and manufacturing leaders to establish accurate cost estimates and define investment requirements for new business opportunities
- Develop and present comprehensive business cases, supported by robust financial analysis, to drive investment decisions for new business opportunities and key strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with all key stakeholders on underlying assumptions and expected returns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis in a plant/manufacturing role
- Experience with product cost estimating and/or cost accounting preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing industry required, Automotive industry preferred, with a solid foundation in business case analysis and in building cost estimating models and tracking product development costs.
