Responsible for operating production lines in such a manner as to ensure safety of self and others as well as quality of product produced.

The Production Shift Superintendent will assume all Duties and Responsibilities of the Production Shift Supervisor in addition to: oversee the daily shift operations of the glass manufacturing production lines, ensure safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met. This role serves as the Shift Contact for the facility and leads production teams, coordinates with maintenance and quality departments, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to meet production goals.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate production activities across multiple shifts.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
Lead and develop Supervisors, Team Leads and Production Staff through coaching, training, and performance management.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve issues and optimize processes.
Maintain accurate production records and reports.
Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods in coordination with supply chain.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Associate degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing leadership may be considered.
Minimum 8 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive glass, ceramics, or high-temperature materials.
Proven track record of managing teams and improving production performance.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems).
Familiarity with production planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
