Summary of Position:
The Scheduler position within the Automotive Supply Chain function plays a critical role in optimizing production flow and ensuring on-time delivery of glass parts to our customers. This role will work closely with various departments including Purchasing, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance to manage customer backorders and production capacity constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all customer interactions related to parts availability, including backorders, delays, and lead times.
- Proactively communicate production challenges and manage customer expectations through scheduled calls, meetings, and inquiries.
- Track and report on customer satisfaction metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Engineering, Purchasing) to ensure smooth production flow and efficient delivery of available parts.
- Analyze production data to optimize scheduling processes, identify potential issues, and proactively address customer concerns.
- Develop and maintain production schedules for automotive parts, considering customer demand, lead times, resource availability, and raw material forecasts.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Three to Five years’ experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or related field in a Manufacturing environment
- Proficient in the use of AUTO CAD, Inventor, MS Project software.
- Broad knowledge of mechanics and pneumatics systems
- Experience in a problem-solving discipline such as Six Sigma or KT
- Strong Project Management skills
- Effective communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work closely with different teams and present solid solutions
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related discipline or equivalent
- Preferred APICS/CPIM certification (American Production and Inventory Control Society – Certified Production & Inventory Management)
Experience:
- 3+ years of manufacturing or inventory management experience.
- Experience with communicating with verifying levels within the organization.
- Strong understanding of production planning and scheduling principles.
- +2 Experience working with SAP.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to maintain plant relationships with operations,
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
- Strong systems capabilities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling:
- Strong understanding of production planning and scheduling principles, with a focus on SAP PP (Production Planning) module functionality.
- Experience with raw material forecasting and inventory management (experience with SAP MM module a plus).
- Working knowledge of production scheduling concepts like MRP (Material Requirements Planning).
- Ability to analyze production data and identify trends to improve scheduling processes within SAP.
Customer Service:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers.
- Ability to clearly explain complex production issues in a customer-friendly manner using clear and concise language.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve customer concerns related to parts availability, lead times, and deliveries.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in MS 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting. (PBI +)
- Working knowledge of SAP, particularly the PP (Production Planning) module for creating and maintaining production schedules.
- Familiarity with SAP MM (Materials Management) module for requisitioning raw materials (a plus).
- Understanding of SAP SD (Sales & Distribution) module functions related to customer orders (a plus).
