Summary of Position:

The Regional QMS Leader is responsible for managing and supporting the Quality Management System across the organization, ensuring alignment with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements. This role partners with process owners to identify and implement improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness and leads the coordination of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) efforts.

Location: On-site 4-days/week in Farmington Hills, MI.  

Travel: Must be able to travel on short notice, both domestically (U.S., Canada, and Mexico) and occasionally to Europe or Asia. Travel up to 30% expected during internal and external audits.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Quality Management System (QMS) and certification process, including developing and maintaining QMS in line with IATF 16949, conducting internal audits, addressing findings through root cause analysis and corrective actions, and collaborating across departments to ensure quality is integrated throughout the organization.
  • Partnering with process owners to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes.
  • Delivering training on quality standards and best practices to promote a strong quality culture and facilitating business process training for key roles within the organization.
  • Leads the development and maintenance of the ERM framework, supporting process owners in identifying and assessing key risks across the organization. Facilitates risk assessments, maintains risk registers and indicators, coordinates mitigation efforts, and provides regular reporting to leadership. Promotes a strong risk culture through training and communication, while supporting internal audits, compliance, and response to emerging risks and incidents.

 

Qualifications:

  • Relevant manufacturing experience. Engineering or relevant area of study, preferred.
  • Lead IATF Auditor and/or ISO/TS certification
  • VDA 6.3 Internal Auditor certification, preferred.

 

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Critical thinking and ability to understand and incorporate external and internal factors into the QMS planning and implementation phases.
  • Able to demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 Quality Management Systems.
  • Proven experience leading a cross functional team in planning, implementing and improving a company’s Quality Management System.
  • Understanding and interpretation of Automotive Homologation is preferred.
  • Competent in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and experience with SharePoint, plus.
