AGC | Quality Lab Technician, Alabaster, AL

Summary of Position:

Maintain gages in good working order, catalog, and control gages in GAGEtrak software system. Control calibration of gages by internal calibration and outsourcing calibration to ISO17025 accredited labs. Perform process audits according to IATF requirements, local and corporate procedures. Participate in customer, internal and external ISO 9001 IATF16949 audits.  Maintain Quality Assurance Department KPI’s through continuous improvement utilizing Kaizen Spiral concepts.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain calibration on gauges and test equipment (thermometers, force gauges, indicators and all other equipment used to perform quality checks)
  • Maintain condition of gauges and test equipment
  • Perform measurements of parts/ per request and MSA studies as required
  • Provide technical expertise for support and coordination of quality system improvements
  • Assure ISO 16949 registration is achieved and maintained
  • Assure quality systems are improved, standardized, revised, and documented
  • Internal, external, and customer process and product audit involvement
  • Oversee change control policies and procedures
  • Work with plant operations staff to meet plant and customer quality metrics
  • Support of maintaining Metrology Lab Requirements
  • Assist with Gage R&R, CPK studies and data entry. 
  • Other tasks assigned 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • High school diploma
  • 4 to 6 years of automotive manufacturing quality management experience in a fast-paced work environment.  
  • Have or be willing to be IATF 16949 internal auditor certified
  • Must have excellent computer skills, systems knowledge, SharePoint experience.
  • Experience in data entry, SPC’s, APQP, MSA, PPAP Fundamentals, 
  • Quality trend analysis and corrective action development experience
  • Able to work unsupervised.
  • Be able to use gauges such as micrometers, digital indicators, check fixtures, etc.
  • Must have the ability to utilize all Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
  • Must be able to communicate efficiently, both orally and in writing, to internal and external clients.
  • Have or be willing to get internal auditor ISO 9001 IATF16949 internal auditor certification.
