AGC | Quality Engineer (Evaluate breakdown for level 1, 2, 3 & 4) Bellefontaine, OH

AGC Glass Company North America, located in Bellefontaine, Ohio, fabricates high-quality automotive safety glass for automobile manufacturers located in the United States and abroad. We are searching for individuals who want to join our fast-paced, high-tech, team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality control systems and processes.
  • Conduct audits and testing to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the production process, reducing defects and enhancing quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of quality assurance documentation, including process flows, inspection reports, and corrective actions.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with Specialization in Operations Management, Engineering Management, Quality Management, or a closely related field.
  • Master's degree in quality management or related may be preferred.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of automotive standards and regulations (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VOA, APQP).
  • Experience with process improvement and problem-solving methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, or similar tools.
  • Proven ability to conduct audits, inspections, and testing to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Experience with quality control software tools and techniques, Minitab, or similar software.
  • Working knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
  • Working knowledge of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Working knowledge of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
  • Working knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control)
  • Working knowledge of MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis).

Technical Skills:

  • Working Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product design, and materials.
  • Strong understanding of problem-solving, statistical analysis, quality metrics, and performance indicators.
  • Ability to perform testing and inspections of materials, products, and processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management tools like ERP systems or SAP.
  • Working knowledge of CAD and engineering drawing interpretation can be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency with OEM Portals is a plus.
