Summary of Position

The Process Technology Leader is within the corporate structure having visibility across all manufacturing sites of AANA. Within this structure, they lead a team of Engineers & Technical Specialists within their technology area to provide both new & standardized manufacturing process solutions to meet the cost, capability, & capacity demands of the business.  In this role, the Process Technology Leader closely interfaces with Operations, New Model Launch, Product Technology, R&D, and equipment / tooling vendors to achieve the most effective solutions while improving cross-functional processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, & implement strategies for new manufacturing process technology innovation to secure KPI improvement for reduced cost, new manufacturing process capability, and sufficient process capacity to manage all current and future business identified in the business plan.
  • Implementation of the strategies includes the maintenance of standard recipes (PFMEA, Process Standards, Tooling Standards) for their technology area.
  • Provide manufacturing process KPI’s and investment feedback to Finance for all new model quotation activities at all AANA facilities.  
  • Upon business award, your team will review product designs to confirm manufacturing feasibility, recommend alternative design solutions in case of feasibility risk or the need for cost reduction, and support the development of process flow / equipment / tooling / check fixtures with each manufacturing site engineering team.
  • Communicate a clear & compelling image of how your team is connected to the business goals of the division. 
  • The leader must foster an environment of trust within & between teams in which risks are anticipated & failure in the development of complex technology is an avenue for personal growth.  
  • The leader must empower their team members to make decisions at the lowest possible level to embrace accountability.
  • The leader must work with team members to create professional development roadmaps.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in an engineering function.
  • Supervisory experience within an engineering team preferred.
  • Automotive Tier 1 experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of project management principles (financial, quality, timing).
  • Knowledge of automated processes to produce adhesion & solder joints including the use of vision systems.
  • Understanding of technical theory and practical methodology of automotive glazing manufacturing processes.
  • Detailed understanding of GD&T & tolerance stack-up principles.
