AGC | Process Technology Engineer, Elizabethtown, KY
AGC Automotive Americas (AANA) is a leading supplier of automotive glazing for the OEM and aftermarket industries and is part of the AGC Group, the largest global glass supplier employing more than 50,000 worldwide in approximately 30 countries.
Responsible for operating production lines in such a manner as to ensure safety of self and others as well as quality of product produced.
Responsibilities:
- Help define manufacturing standards.
- Seek continual improvement of manufacturing processes (productivity and profitability) by applying AES principles.
- Track process performance indicators (safety, quality, delivery, and costs); identify problems and implement countermeasures.
- Ensure that processes are safe and ergonomic for associates.
- Lead changeover reduction strategies using SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies).
- Develop manufacturing processes to improve SQDC.
- Coordinate with management and specialty teams for troubleshooting, project implementation, and engineering changes.
- Assist in processing, implementing, launching, and maintaining engineering changes.
- Manage control documentation, including Standardized Work Instructions, Work Combination Tables, Standardized Work Charts, and Yamazumi.
- Comply with safety, quality, and environmental guidelines and systems applicable to the plant and processes.
- Support the implementation of SQDC practices and pull systems.
- Review root causes and implement countermeasures for scrap, downtime, and operator performance issues.
- Implement cycle-time reductions and quality improvement initiatives.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma required
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours (any shift)
- Self-Starter / driven – Goal orientated
- Understand, Implement and Train to APS tools such as. Standardized Work Instructions, Work Instructions, Standardized Work Combination Tables, Capacity Sheets, Standardized Work Charts, and Yamazumi.
- Knowledge of the KTM and SQDC processes and procedures
- Knowledge of Tableau Data Collection System
- Fabrication skills are preferred (welding, metal forming, etc.)
- Mechanically inclined preferred
