AGC | Process Engineer, Bellefontaine, OH

AGC, located in Bellefontaine, OH is seeking a qualified Process Engineer. In this role, the Process Engineer will apply and industrialize technology to production processes.  Through this effort, a successful candidate will contribute significantly to AGCs goal of being an excellent company in the eyes of our Associates, Customers, and Shareholders.  

 Responsibilities:

  • Supports the facility operations by improving efficiency of the operations used in manufacturing to increase productivity, while maintaining safety and quality
  • Driving process improvements through the use of root cause analysis, driving/leading process improvement teams, facilitating the use of effective problem solving tools, i.e. SPC, 8D, 5P, FMEA
  • Comply with all aspects of AGC’s Global Code of Conduct.

  • Ensure all planned, controllable KPIs are met or exceeded.
  • Foster a teamwork environment through effective two-way communication.
  • Identify and manage resources to execute process improvement activities.
  • Work closely with Staff to assess processes for technical or capability problems, and prioritize projects.
  • Coordinate, lead and direct improvement activities for production, with an emphasis on KPI improvements.
  • Provide support and problem solving leadership for daily technical and process problems.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot production data/trends to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Establish required data collection processes to assure effective process management and process control plans are in place.
  • Train associates in the use of various process improvement tools and techniques.
  • Lead and participate in process improvement teams and GMM activities.
  • Lead and participate in new tooling development activities.
  • Participate in customer and third party certification, i.e. ISO, TS 16949.
  • Update and develop Process Flow and PFMEA plans.
  • Communicate with customers, sister plants, related industries and travel as needed.
  • Other duties or projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or closely related engineering discipline.
  • Two to five years of experience as an Engineer in a Manufacturing environment
  • Good communication skills necessary
  • Experience using problem-solving such as SPC, 8D, 5P, FMEA
  • Experience driving Continuous Improvements.
  • Project Management skills preferred
  • Microsoft Office applications experience preferred
  • CAD software experience preferred
