Summary of Position:

AGC Automotive located in Alabaster, AL is seeking a qualified Operational Excellence Team Leader. 

Assists in the development and implementation of Operational Excellence initiatives within the Alabaster plants. Coordinates associates in his/her team to assist in the standardization and implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Point of Use and Ergonomic analysis on processes to improve parts presentation and safety
  • Implementation and management of the Kaizen Suggestion System to improve overall culture score
  • Conduct and lead 5S audits, 5S standards implementation and 5S improvement to improve 5S score
  • Update the system with results of 5s audits
  • Train and lead Operational Excellence team in time study processes, developing cycle time/takt time bar charts and determining bottlenecks and opportunities
  • Identify the 8 wastes, and implement plans to eliminate them
  • Organize and lead high level CI projects
  • Organize and lead Kaizen activities
  • Conduct Value Added Analysis to determine process contribution to value
  • Draw spaghetti diagrams (process flow charts) to zero in on wasteful motions
  • Participate and assist in the development of current state and future state value stream maps
  • Implement Flexcraft areas, implement Flexcraft standards and train others on Flexcraft method building
  • Use Flexcraft to design creative stations and unique material delivery devices
  • Design and teach classes
  • Gemba (shop floor report outs) improvement activities
  • Verifiably save AGC from $50,000 – $1.5 Million progressively during time in position
  • Work toward saving AGC 3-4x associate salary on an annual basis
  • Work with finance manager to determine cost savings
  • Complete other assignments as assigned by Operational Excellence Manager

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Willing to complete Root Cause Analysis and Project Management training
  • Willing to complete Just-in-Time Management, Total Quality Management, Management Skills, and Time Management training
  • Willing to complete Risk Management and Finance for Non-Finance Managers training

Salary Range:

$22.00-$28.00 per hour
