AGC | Environmental Engineer/Specialist, Elizabethtown, KY

The Environmental Engineer/Specialist develops, coordinates and manages various activities around the Environmental Management System (EMS)
Responsibilities:
- Acts as Site EMS Representative by maintaining the environmental management system
- Ensures compliance for site EMS program including preparing and maintaining monthly reports for Air Emissions, Chemical Inventory, SERC and SARA R reporting
- Ensures compliance with ISO 14001
- Prepares and maintains site contingency plan
- Acts as site Hazardous Waste Emergency Coordinator
- Conducts internal audits and develops corrective action plans
- Inspect facilities and programs to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Ensures compliance to Storm Water Pollution Prevention (SWPP) plan
- Conducts and maintains EMS Training of all site associates
- Manages and maintains site recycling program
- Other duties or projects as assigned
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related subject required
- 4 – 6 years manufacturing environmental experience
Skills/Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of ISO 14001 requirements
- Advanced knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize problem solving tools such as Six Sigma, Fishbone, KT, 8D, etc.
- Moderate to advanced computer skills including use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret environmental standards and regulations
- Strong process skills
- Ability to develop and present solid presentations to employees at all levels
