AGC | Assistant Production Manager, Elizabethtown, KY

AGC Automotive Americas (AANA) is a leading supplier of automotive glazing for the OEM and aftermarket industries and is part of the AGC Group, the largest global glass supplier employing more than 50,000 worldwide in approximately 30 countries.

Leads, manages, and supervises all manufacturing activities in coordination with the Production Manager.


  • Leads production activities to attain KPIs – safety, quality, yield, productivity performance targets.
  • Develops production specialists, coordinators and students through coaching, feedback, and continued training activities. Provides input into development of process engineers and other supporting positions to those managers.
  • Interfaces with production coordinators for manufacturing issues.
  • Assists production manager in strategic planning.
  • Provides support for new model development on production processes.
  • Leads / participates in problem solving activities regarding safety, quality, mechanical and process concerns.
  • Ensures quality of product to customer specifications are met consistently.
  • Ensures safe workplace for associates and visitors by establishing and maintaining 5S objectives.
  • Advises and expedites the resolution and implementation of corrective actions to facilitate continuous improvement in the areas of customer satisfaction, cost, work simplification, safety, employee satisfaction, budgetary conformance or other goals and objectives.
  • Supports and leads KTA activities for manufacturing.
  • Supports and coordinates plant activities between support departments such as maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering teams.
  • Demonstrates leadership values in all aspect of responsibilities.
  • Coordinates work schedules of direct reports.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree (business or technical degree preferred)
  • Three to five years related leadership and production experience


  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize problem solving tools such as Six Sigma, Fishbone, KT, 8D, etc.
  • Basic to moderate computer skills including use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Quality systems and ISO knowledge
  • Previous experience in leading continuous improvement activities
