Summary of Position:

An Account Manager ensures consistent and profitable growth in sales revenues with EV customers through positive planning, deployment and management of sales accounts and through establishment of strong customer satisfaction.

Main activity: Act as “first line” point of contact for all customer activities. Have a working understanding of all areas of the company, to be able to issue-spot quickly and effectively and activate resources or change direction as needed. Ensure strong commercial performance with the customer, and strong delivery on AGC commitments to the customer.

Key behaviors:

  • Ensure that all activities with the customer are aligned to the overall AGC vision for assigned customer. Ensure alignment within AGC to support the business strategy.
  • Help to hold AGC groups accountable to complete their customer deliverables.
  • Consistently make logical and data-driven decisions to help execute AGC’s strategy for assigned customers.

Responsibilities:

Customer Relationship:

  • Continuously work with the customer to have close alignment between AGC and customer on all open topics within scope of responsibility.
  • Supports (or, in the absence of a sales Manager, responsible for) maintaining/improving the Relationship with existing customers and with new departments within existing customers
  • Supports the process of building relationships with new customers.
  • Continuously pull the “Voice of Customer” about engineering, commercial, or other needs. Feedback to the AGC organization quickly and concisely for action.

Ongoing / Production Program Development:

  • Work with costing, engineering, and program management to evaluate impacts of all engineering changes.
  • Handle tracking of commercial status, responsible for proposing improvement/recovery plans as needed. Handle invoicing.
  • Prototype and pre-production trial order coordination.
  • Quote changes to the customer to secure price recovery.
  • Drive VA/VE activities to analyze cost-down possibilities.
  • Monitor commercial debits and escalate within AGC as needed

Sourcing:

  • Supports the creation of the Global Sourcing Strategy for the customer
  • For specific programs, set sourcing strategy and coordinate needed actions with costing, engineering, program management, and other groups.
  • Supports or, in the absence of a Sales Manager, responsible for:
    • Local Sourcing Strategy
    • Front-Loading Activity
    • VE / VA Activity (if applicable)
    • Quotation
    • Negotiation with customer

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS). Preferably with technical or engineering focus
  • 2-3 years related sales or business development experience preferred.
  • Technical development experience preferred
  • OEM Automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
