AGC | Account Manager – Automotive Replacement Glass (ARG) Grove City, OH

AGC Glass Company North America, located in Grove City, Ohio, fabricates high-quality automotive safety glass for automobile manufacturers located in the United States and abroad. We are searching for individuals who want to join our fast-paced, high-tech, team environment.

Summary of Position:

AGC is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Sales Account Manager to manage key relationships across both Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) service accounts and Automotive Replacement Glass (ARG) aftermarket customer accounts. This role requires a blend of customer-focused service, strategic sales management, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customer contacts at both individual and organizational levels.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and proactive communication.
  • Manage the end-to-end customer order process-communicate lead times, part availability, shipping schedules, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Act as a key liaison between AGC and customer stakeholders, supporting business alignment and mutual growth.
  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable status, including escalation as needed.
  • Analyze customer forecasts versus actual orders; engage customers to improve forecast accuracy and accountability.
  • Provide strategic direction to internal teams regarding customer needs, expectations, and business opportunities.
  • Oversee key OEM administrative functions, including customer portal management, purchase order processing, documentation development, and program management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, and Engineering) to ensure smooth execution and fulfillment.
  • Influence and support the new model development process through early involvement and continuous communication.
  • Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activity, and account changes to safeguard business performance.
  • Handle additional account management activities including quoting, pricing updates, credit requests, and monitoring excess & obsolete inventory.
  • Lead customer RFP responses with support from internal teams; coordinate proposals and negotiate to close business opportunities.
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities by analyzing customer-supplied data and external market trends.
  • Occasional travel required (<10%, with potential fluctuations based on business needs).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in deliverables.
  • Analytical mindset with sound problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret and present data clearly to support decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills-both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a customer-first approach.

Education & Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing customer accounts or in a sales-related role.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the automotive glass industry, OEM or aftermarket.
  • Familiarity with industry players such as Safelite, Mygrant, Driven Brands, PGW, or Pilkington.
  • Understanding of the Automotive Replacement Glass (ARG) supply chain and distribution networks.
